Protecting your intellectual property is key to protecting your reputation and other valuable business assets. We can help:
- Trademark applications.
- Representation with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) in responding to examiner’s reports and oppositions.
- Copyright.
- IP Strategy.
- Licensing Agreements.
- Software agreements (development agreements, SaaS agreements, PaaS agreements, EULAs, etc).
General Counsel
A business lawyer helps you make strategic decisions that protect your business and your assets, as well as navigate the legal landscape. That can look like a formal fractional legal counsel relationship (an ongoing retainer) or on an ad hoc basis (e.g. hourly or by transaction). Knowing the best fit for your business starts with a conversation.
Business, Technology, Trademarks Lawyer
About Mark H. Evans Business Law
My practice is built on a two-decade career in both law and technology. Before becoming a lawyer, I spent 15 years as a software engineer and co-founded two start-ups. This technical and entrepreneurial experience has informed how I advise my clients with pragmatic and strategic legal advice.
Since 2017, I have served business clients at a boutique firm in Toronto, at a regional firm in Ontario, and as the leader of the North American in-house team for an international private post-secondary education group. Each of these roles provided unique opportunities, but the commonality was providing my clients with practical, actionable, and strategic advice.
